NetApp MetroCluster

The ATTO FibreBridge™ 6500N, a SAS-to-Fibre Channel bridge, included in NetApp MetroCluster environemnts, enables MetroCluster storage connectivity to include SAS disk shelves in both stretch and fabric MetroCluster environments to take advantage of higher density SAS and SATA disks and resilient backend SAS storage architecture.

Two bridges are deployed per stack of either SAS or SATA disks. The inclusion of the ATTO FibreBridge 6500N Fibre Channel-to-SAS bridge in the MetroCluster also enables:

• SAS/SATA disk storage to integrate into a Fibre Channel SAN
• Increased availability and scalability while allowing the use of direct attached storage on a shared FC network
