About the Greater Niagara Region
Our corporate headquarters, in Amherst, New York, is located in the greater Buffalo/Niagara frontier region of New York State. This region is not only the home of Niagara Falls, but is also a center of excellent cultural and sporting events, fine dining, educational institutions and provides an exceptional quality of life.
There is plenty to do in and around Buffalo - whether you are interested in visiting the animals at the Zoo, seeing Niagara Falls, taking a tour of a floating battleship museum, exploring a bustling old world food market, or frequenting one of the many museums. The region is filled with a multitude of parks, museums, wineries and fascinating points of interest like the Erie Canal. In fact there is always something to do in the Greater Niagara region, because we celebrate all four seasons.
Architectural treasures are everywhere - from the art deco Buffalo City Hall to a 17th century French Baroque basilica to a terra cotta masterpiece designed by Louis Sullivan as America's earliest skyscraper. Also, greater Buffalo boasts of having six homes designed by one of America's most acclaimed architects, Frank Lloyd Wright.
Buffalo has the entertainment and nightlife to suit any taste. The Elmwood Strip and area features a mix of restaurants, nightclubs, boutiques, unique shops and antique stores. Chippewa Street in downtown Buffalo has emerged as an area hot spot with live jazz, top 40 and alternative music clubs. The downtown theater district offers a variety of choices if you're into the performing arts. If its classical music you're looking for, there's the acoustically perfect Kleinhans Music Hall, home of the acclaimed Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra. For world-renowned art, the internationally famous Albright-Knox Art Gallery is a must see.
Buffalo has the greatest sports fans and the teams to match. Besides the Buffalo Bills, Buffalo is home to the NHL Buffalo Sabres, Buffalo Bandits Lacrosse, and baseball's Buffalo Bisons.
